Chinese
President Xi Jinping has delivered a strong and direct message, calling
for the immediate withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon
and warning against allowing the region to “become another Gaza.” His
remarks mark a notable shift, highlighting China’s increasingly active
role in Middle Eastern diplomacy. Beijing has framed the situation as a
serious violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty, cautioning that continued
military presence could push the region toward a wider humanitarian
crisis. The statement reflects growing international concern over
escalating operations and their impact on civilians and infrastructure.
In a strategic move, China has also proposed hosting a multilateral
peace conference aimed at stabilizing the region, restoring boundaries
along the “Blue Line,” and placing oversight under the United Nations.
This positions Beijing as an alternative diplomatic power at a time when
global leadership on the issue is being questioned. With no official
response yet from Israel, tensions continue to rise. As the situation
unfolds, attention is turning to whether China will translate its strong
words into concrete action on the global stage
