A United Nations diplomat has dramatically resigned, claiming he is “giving up” his career to expose what he says is a possible nuclear strike being prepared against Iran.

Mohamad Safa, a long-time representative linked to a UN-accredited organization, stepped down after nearly a decade in the role, saying he could no longer stay silent about what he described as a looming catastrophe.

In a fiery statement, Safa warned that powerful figures were allegedly pushing toward the use of nuclear weapons, calling it a “crime against humanity” and urging the public to take the threat seriously.

He claimed he chose to leak the information despite the personal cost, saying he would rather lose his career than be complicit in what he fears could trigger mass destruction on a global scale.
