Iran’s
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has signaled a decisive and dramatic
shift in Tehran’s stance, declaring that negotiations with the United
States are effectively over. In a strongly worded statement, he
described recent events as a “bitter experience,” accusing Washington of
betraying trust after allegedly assuring Iran there would be no
military action. According to Araghchi, talks had been making meaningful
progress, making the sudden turn toward confrontation even more
damaging. He emphasized that this breach has completely eroded any
remaining trust, leaving no space for further dialogue. The escalating
regional tensions, he warned, are not only deepening conflict but also
shutting the door on diplomacy altogether. In his view, the path forward
is no longer negotiation, but a hardened stance shaped by what Iran
sees as broken promises and irreversible mistrust.
