For over a year, we’ve been told that these "Stargate" data centers were "done deals." We had to hand over our farmland, drain our aquifers, and watch our electricity bills skyrocket because "the future" required $500 billion in supercomputers.
But, according to the WSJ, that $100B+ "vision" is falling apart. OpenAI is reportedly scaling back, abandoning plans in places like the UK and Norway, and walking away from flagship sites in Texas.
Turns out, even the "visionaries" can’t manifest infinite water and power out of thin air when the *math ain't mathin'* and the lenders get nervous.
