When you think of the past, it's the beautiful things we pick out to remember. We want to believe it was all like that, of course it wasn't. In looking back, we remember treasured moments that were so precious that we long for them, and those moments mask the truth.
 

I talk to the moon because it never interrupts, never rushes my words, never asks me to explain. It listens to all my confessions without judgment that I will not say to other humans anymore. I tell it about the days that hurt quietly. The moon stays and solemnly listens, and sometimes it's enough to keep me breathing.

Donald Christopher Windecker, who disappeared in 1994 while diving in Lake Tahoe. He was found at a depth of 264 feet in 2011. The extreme temperatures (around 38 degrees) preserved his body remarkably well.
